World Press Freedom Day

World Press Freedom Day Publishers and journalists are arrested and jailed every so often because they are seen as a threat. May 3 celebrates World Press Freedom Day, honoring sacrifices around the world made for freedom of the press. This further reminds governments of their duty to respect and uphold the right to freedom of expression, central to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
